Welcome to our homepage! We are a foundation stage class of 16 children taught by Mrs Field on Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Lord on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We have a lovely bright and spacious room where we enjoy a pure Foundation Stage Curriculum with lots of practical learning through structured play and topic based activities.

We have fun learning our letters and sounds, supported with Jolly Phonics and quickly learn to apply these in our early reading and writing skills. We love to be out and about in our Outdoor Explorers sessions each Thursday afternoon, making the most of our big field. We like to be active in our own outside play space or in our lovely big hall.

We’re a busy little class who come to school with a smile, starting our school days in a fun and safe environment, becoming part of the family that is Landscove. Below you can download our termly topic webs and see some of the things we get up to….

Some of the activities enjoyed with last year’s Class 1……..2017-2018

Our lovely day spent at Stover Country Park as part of our topic on New Life

Decorating biscuits (space style, to finish our topic!) which we then shared with our friends at Redmount Nursing Home, where we enjoyed fun with puppets.

Class 1 and 2 enjoyed their visit to Theatre Royal Plymouth to see a performance of The Enormous Turnip. They met the characters and puppets after the show and waved them goodbye in their turnip caravan!

‘From Field to Plate’ – our fabulous day at Riverford Farm where we saw and tasted growing food and then created our own pizzas which we tucked into for lunch!

Our lovely visit to Buckfast Abbey, where we took part in a workshop called The Shepherd’s Tale and we enjoyed looking around the huge abbey too….

Our Christmas visit to Redmount Nursing Home, where we entertained the resisdents with our Nativity songs and then made some decorations together.

We made our own stick men in Outdoor Explorers and also had fun climbing trees!
